Single Red Bead

In medieval England it was considered lucky if during the construction of a garment the seamstress pricked her finger on her needle and shed a drop of blood on the fabric. In many other cultures the colour red is believed to be lucky and to protect from harm, or the 'evil eye'. A red thread was often sewn into the garments of soldiers uniforms in the belief that this would protect him and help him to return home safely. In some cultures it is still considered lucky to include a single red bead in the construction of a beaded garment or ornate piece of beaded jewelery.

All of the items on this site are hand-made, and if you look carefully you will find hidden in the construction of all beaded items a single red bead.

Site currently under construction - beautiful hand-made jewelery available soon...
